Intended audience This qualification is for people who have a specific interest or responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, who may need to provide adult, child or infant BLS interventions, safely use an AED and manage a casualty suffering from anaphylaxis. Entry requirements Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements but we strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent. Other course requirements Due to the practical nature of this course, Learners should wear appropriate clothing and footwear, e.g. trousers and flat footwear. Progression The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in BLS, AED and Management of Anaphylaxis for Adults, Children and Infants (RQF) may be used towards other qualifications at the same and higher level, plus aid career progression in a relevant profession. Requalification requirements This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years. . For this qualification there are 6 mandatory practical assessments for this qualification: • Adult CPR and safe use of an AED • CPR and AED considerations • Child CPR and safe use of an AED • Infant CPR and safe use of an AED • Unconscious casualty • Management of anaphylaxis Total qualification time - 5 Hours
